The photographic triptych "Customs" by Christina Lag-Schroeckenstein is dedicated to the tension between history, tradition and exclusion. It asks about those customs, some of which are based on old superstitions, which give the stranger a mostly grimacing face. Which deface the foreign into monstrosity. that turn the alien into a prejudice. When evil spirits are to be driven out and hellish creatures chased away, the different is displayed as violent barbarism. Das Brutale und Blinde eines extremen, radikalen Blicks auf die Welt, das Unnachgiebige und Undifferenzierte einer Alles-oder-Nichts-Haltung, beides hat seine Form und seinen Ausdruck nicht umsonst im stärksten und härtesten aller Kontraste, im Sprichwort des „Schwarz-Weiß- Denkens“ gefunden. Dieses Denken in unverrückbaren Kategorien, vorgefertigten Einteilungen und versteinerten oppositionellen Blöcken drückt die Frauen-Installation von der Künstlerin Christina-Lagschroeckenstein aus.

Like a "tabula rasa", an empty, white background, Christina Lag-Schroeckenstein approaches her new home with the pictures of her first photo series Ton In Ton Weiß, far away from any tourist clichés, away from all transfiguring expectations, with a curious, undisguised eye for structures and breaks. They tell of corporations that first steal people's water and other raw materials in order to then sell them to them at a high price
